To see if your camera requires a firmware update, slide the main power switch to SETUP, and use LEFT/RIGHT to find "Upgrade Firmware." You’ll notice a text string there (Example:BCPRO-160426). The last part of this text is the date code of the firmware in the format of Year (YY)/Month(MM)/Day(DD). Check that date code against the date code of the latest firmware version provided HERE to determine if you need to upgrade or not.
If you do not have the most recent firmware installed, proceed with instructions below.
Insert SD card into computer (using available slots or card reader adapter)
Download the most recent firmware HERE. A “.BIN” file will be downloaded.
Copy or Drag the .BIN file directly to your SD card. Before removing the SD card from the computer, ensure it is safely disconnected from the computer.
Use the up/down selectors to choose “Yes”. Then press the “Okay” button. You will see an “upgrading…” message at the bottom of the screen
If the system reboots, the firmware upgrade is successful.
If the update failed, a “Fail” notification will appear. Repeat the update process from the beginning.
